Ostfrämjandet, the trade organisation for cheese producers in Sweden, is part of the Swedish Dairy Association, which is the national industry organisation for dairy farmers and the dairy industry in Sweden.
Ostfrämjandet’s objectives are to safeguard Swedish cheese culture and spread knowledge of Swedish hard cheeses. The organisation’s operations are conducted in partnership with Swedish cheese producers, retailers and opinion makers in the diet and gastronomy sector.
Ostfrämjandet’s activities include assuming special responsibility for some of Sweden’s most prominent cheeses. These include the hard-cheese brands Grevé®, Herrgård® and Präst®, as well as the named-protected cheeses Svecia and Hushållsost. These cheeses are manufactured at several locations and by several different dairy companies.
